Career Change Coaching
Forward Career Coaching is not just for those at the start of their careers.
We often work with people in their late 20s & early 30s, who feel stuck – having started out in one direction, it’s just not turning out the way they had hoped and they want to move on.
But where and how?
Is it a case of identifying your transferrable skills and applying these to a new role? Or is it time for a total re-think?
If it’s the former we can help you develop and enhance your personal brand in order to strategically apply & take advantage of your current experience to branch off in a new direction.
If it’s time for a total re-think, Forward coaching can help get to the real ‘you’: what are your interests, your strengths, what drives you, what values are important to you and what would be your ideal work environment? Armed with this information you can forge a new path.
Whatever you need, you will receive the advice & support while making the transition and throughout the early days of your new future.
How much does it cost?
Initial coaching session (90-120 minutes) starts from £300. Subsequent sessions cost from £195.
Career Change Coaching FAQs
Knowing what you want in a different career is a great starting point. What are you currently lacking and what are you looking for? So many skills and knowledge you have developed will be transferable to different career paths, so don’t worry if you think a career pivot will be difficult. Then you need to create a CV and LinkedIn profile that is tailored towards your new career path, create your personal action plan with the practical steps
It’s important to work out whether it’s the actual job (i.e. what you’re doing every day) or the environment you are not enjoying. We will help you work out exactly what you’re struggling with, what you’d prefer to be doing and help guide you towards your ‘what next’.
In addition to knowing what path you want to pursue, the most important things employers are now looking for are the ‘soft skills’ including confidence and motivation, resilience and emotional intelligence – things our current education system does not cover.
A career coach will help you define your career direction, ensure you have the tools to make the best applications, shine at interviews and build your key soft skills too.
Career plans and aspirations can change at age or stage; it’s definitely worth taking stock and working out what you want to do. Is it a simple switch of roles in the same company, or is this the time to move to a different organisation and sector doing something completely different? What is that ‘something’s not right’ gnawing telling you? You may not yet know what exactly it is you want (your Forward Coach will help you with that), but ask yourself, if not now, when?!
A career coach helps you identify, set and achieve your goals. We all achieve so much more if we are very clear about where we want to get to, but so often job searching can simply be a ‘scatter gun’ of applications.
A career coach helps you clarify your strengths, motivations, interests and skills and identify a career path(s) (which sectors, activities,) that suit you; highlight any skills you might need to develop (e.g. interviewing, networking) and works with you to develop the tools you need (e.g. CV writing) to secure a great job.
‘Thank you so much for the inspiration and creating a new vision for me. I haven’t laughed so much in ages!’
