Having read Chemical Engineering at university, Adam embarked on a career with a number of blue-chip companies, travelling the globe and living the life of a high-level executive. However, as his 30^th birthday approached he had a reality check: “I was well-paid and successful but not fulfilled. I couldn’t believe this was going to be my life for the next 40 years – but I couldn’t see the alternative either.”

It was at this stage Adam approached Forward for help. The career pivot programme gave him greater insight into the possibilities and potential outside of the corporate environment. It helped him to refine his thinking through analysing his own feelings and capabilities. Crucially it allowed him to focus on his own values and what was important to him in order to gain fulfilment and satisfaction from both his working and personal life.

“‘I’ve learnt that sometimes you have to take a step back to move forwards. The coaching programme gave me the courage and the confidence to break out and dare to set up my own business. It is early days and I still have plenty to learn but I can honestly say that Forward provided me with the impetus to follow my dream. This was something I had never thought was possible”.
